There are 18 experienced researchers from Germany and Korea involved in the research and qualification program of the Cologne-Seoul International Research Training Group. All Korean and German project leaders and associated researchers steering important core facilities were selected based on two key criteria: (1) proven excellence in lung cancer research and/or data sciences, and (2) proven qualifications in education and international collaboration.
Doctoral students in Cologne and Seoul study in the respective PhD programs of the IRTG (IPMM/CCSC and SAIHST). A key aspect of the qualification program is to welcome a new generation of up to 14 doctoral students for each cohort (2025, 2028, 2030). As a result, each generation overlaps with the previous/subsequent generations by at least one year.
